christina + david | blissful and engaged

July 22, 2010

Can somebody say “rockstars”? It was a great pleasure photographing Christina and David as I’ve know David since he was a wee little child. He continues to blow me away as I have witnessed his growth as a son, brother, friend, musician [Kings], and now future husband to Christina. And there is so much to be said about how lovely, kind, and not to mention fabulously stylish Christina is. We decided to incoporate something fun and colorful by using red and silver balloons, and loved it!

Here’s how the session turned out…

…what Jane has been up to

July 20, 2010

Hello faithful viewers!

I must say, I did not mean to let this much time go by without a posting of tasty images, however I will share about what I’ve been up to if you’ve been wondering…

I definitely have been and still am shooting – a plethora of new images are coming your way! A big chunk of this past year has been dedicated to the opening of a new studio space in Santa Monica, CA! The studio is now open alongside John & Joseph Photography. John Hong is my deviously creative husband. He plans to take over the world. In addition to spending time on the studio, there are some exciting new developments for Jane Lee Photography underway that I hope to share in the near future.

For now, here’s a quick tour of the studio!

Yet another peek-a-boo this weekend for a sweet couple… Katie & Julien!

July 20, 2009

Seattle summer is in full swing and I definitely feel like we’ve scored this weekend with perfect weather! Katie and Julien are so romantically sweet and we started the session at the arboretum where they like to spend a lot of their time and it was where Julien popped THE question. When I asked Katie how she would describe their relationship, a part of what she said was “… the list of ways we match goes on forever. Our perfect day would be to get up in the morning and take a walk to a bakery for breakfast, spend the day outside at the beach or in a park, go home and get all dressed up, go out for a romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant or street-side café, have a drink at a chic bar, and then go home.”

I LOVE THAT! And so here’s a couple peek-a-boos from yesterday’s session!

A fantastic end to my day… here’s a peek!

July 19, 2009

I actually met Bryan my freshman year in college when we worked on campus together – now about a decade later I have the honor of photographing his wedding when he takes Jackie to be his beautiful wife-to-be this September! The soft sun light was absolutely perfect as we romped around Discovery Park and then ending the night in beautiful downtown Seattle. I’m so excited about the images we captured today that I just had to post up a sneak peek before answering my beckoning pillow.

June 25, 2009

It’s been awhile since the last blog and even longer to blog this winter wedding. But I just have to share the wonderful…and some hilarious moments. Kathy & Gene, their bridal party and guests were real troopers as the show must go on, snow fall or not!

Vanessa + Tim

May 6, 2009

As I have mentioned before, it’s always a risk to have an outdoor wedding here in Washington, but when the weather pulls through how beautiful it really is! Vanessa & Tim committed to eachother on Vanessa’s family farm. Every detail, from place cards to the floral arrangements truly captured the theme and essence of family tradition. There was so much character to the surroundings that it was easy to take advantage of it. Oh, and my personal favorite detail – Vanessa’s shoes! Love-love-love them!

And did I mention that they brought in a mechanical bull? I definitely got a kick out of photographing the “contenders” – sadly, many were no match for The Bull!

Jennifer and Ben were making a visit here in Seattle to see family, and of course, to introduce their new addition to the family – Isabella!

By the way – I will never get tired of photographing little hands and feet!!!

Lani + Jeff’s Wedding

April 4, 2009

Lani + Jeff’s wedding was nothing short of elegance and class. With the day starting and ending at the Columbia Tower, all of the details in between were handled beautifully by coordinator, Wendy of Weddings with Wendy. And in the midst of all the classy details, there’s no way you could miss the sign of a true trekkie. In short, the wedding was Qapla’!

Babies + Mommies

March 14, 2009

I recently had a lunch date with a couple childhood friends of mine, and I have to say, I feel a little behind in the baby department! Both Lydia and Stephanie have adorable baby boys and they have quite the personalities! I really enjoy photographing kids in environments that they are familiar and comfortable with. In this case, Lydia’s home was the perfect setting for a new found baby friendship literally birthed from an older one :]

Here’s a fun lil’ session we did…
